Our next AGM is taking place on 24th November, 8.30pm at Woodlawns Centre, 16 Leigham Court Road, Streatham, SW16 2PJ.

Proposed Changes to Constitution
Throughout
Delete any remaining references to “Streatham Forum” and insert “Streatham Action”
3 MEMBERSHIP
Delete “ and who has registered their membership with the Membership Secretary. Only those members who have registered with the Membership Secretary at least four weeks before the start of an AGM or public meeting of the Forum at which a vote is taken shall be eligible to vote.”
4 MEETINGS
At the end of 4.[b] ADD…”and Committee”.
Add new sections [f], [g], [h], renumber current section [f] as [i] and add new section [j]
[f] An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) shall be convened at any time by the Chair on behalf of the Committee or on written request for such a meeting signed by at least 15 members and specifying the business to be transacted. The Committee must convenen the EGM within 35 days of recept of a valid written request.
[g] Voting decisions at an AGM, EGM or ordinary meeting shall be made by simple majority, with the Chair holding the casting vote (except for constitutional amendments as outlined in 10)
[h] Persons may cast only one vote in any Forum vote. Any person attending in a personal and institutional capacity cannot cast multiple votes.
[i] Where a motion is to be put to a meeting of the Forum, copies of that motion shall be sent to members at least ten days before that meeting.
[j] Motions submitted at general meetings must be proposed and seconded by members.
5. OFFICERS
Delete “and Membership Secretary”.
6. NOTICES
delete “Membership Secretary” and insert “Secretary”.
