The ticket barriers at Streatham station are different

It’s happened to me several times and I’ve seen others trip up too. We swipe our Oyster cards, expecting the gates to swing open but they don’t. We swipe again (trying to be more considered in our action) but the response is the same.

I got stuck again on Thursday morning and a fellow passenger said: “Stand back”. I thought he meant: get out of the way. But he was giving advice: stand back from the barrier and reapproach.

I don’t have difficulty elsewhere - on the tube or at other rail stations.

I asked a Southern Railways rep who standing by the barriers if something could be done - he suggested I fill out a complaint form. So I asked for one of these at the ticket desk when I returned from work but they didn’t have any. Brilliant!

Does anyone else think there’s a problem?
