Streatham Action Transport Group
Streatham Action Transport Meeting
The Streatham Action Transport Group is meeting again at the Horse and Groom (upstairs meeting room) to discuss matters related to roads and public transport related matters.
Meeting agenda:
PUBLIC MEETING - SAFER VALLEY ROAD
Speeding on Valley Road is commonplace, as is road rage, pollution caused by idling engines and increasingly heavy traffic. The speed limit is already 20 mph but it is not enforced and speed bumps have done little to remedy the issue. The congestion appears to have been made worse by making side roads one way. But I wonder, is there an alternative?
Local councillors do not feel they have had the mandate from local residents to make changes.
STREATHAM TRANSPORT IMPROVEMENTS TALK
The Streatham Society is hosting a Talk by Neil Salt about the Long Term Transport Improvements for Streatham
The talk will start at 8pm on Monday the 21st of January
Everyone is welcome.
Streatham High Road roadworks update
I was requested to attend – and once again at very short notice – a follow-up meeting at Lambeth Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon, which had been convened by LBL and TfL. Two central Streatham councillors, Cllrs Mohammed Seedat and Saleha Jaffer, were also in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was not only to update us all on the anticipated completion date for the emergency sewage repairs, but also to provide us with detail as to the various stages involved in the upcoming St Leonard’s Junction improvement works.
