This project will improve the health and wellbeing of newly arrived female refugees and asylum seekers

who are housed in temporary hotel accommodation, by hosting weekly cooking sessions for them to

prepare nutritious food, socialise and gain access to specialised advice and support.

The experiences of these women before arriving in this country have often left them very vulnerable and traumatised, so by keeping their cuisines and cooking skills alive and sharing healthy food with each other makes a huge difference to the quality of their lives.

As well as using English during these sessions, they will gain the confidence and strong mental attitude

to build a life in a new country.
