New detailed designs for Streatham Hub
Submitted by Robert Doyle on Sat, 21/01/2012 - 19:52Two planning applications have been submitted to Lambeth Council by Tesco for the final detailed design of the new buildings at the Streatham Hub site currently being cleared between Streatham railway station and Natal Road. They are likely to be considered by Lambeth's planning committee as early as 31 January. The principle of the development is already settled by the existing planning consents given over the last eight years, so please be aware that there is no point raising objections to the idea of a Tesco at this late stage ...read more

Hub clears final planning hurdle
Submitted by Robert Doyle on Tue, 31/01/2012 - 23:30Lambeth's planning committee has tonight approved final details of the appearance and materials for the Streatham Hub development, with a general consensus that the appearance of the scheme now being presented was an improvement on what had been proposed in June 2011.
Objectors raised concerns that the choice of materials would leave the council and its leisure operator with a future maintenance headache as the choice of render and glazing would not cope well in the environment. ...read more
